My current ipod isn't pretty. It is an inherited gen 3 (I think). Incompatible with modern apps, but still works fine for living in my car plugged in to the stereo all day. Here is how I prettied it up in under an hour. Scroll over the photos below for details. You will need: - a hard ipod case - new screen protector - spray paint - Optional: sand paper, a sticker or stencil

This week...
Finished reading: The Catcher in The Rye Started (re)Reading: Harry Potter & the Sorcerers Stone Listening to: T. Swift 1989 Hobbies: Photography, brush tip lettering * * * I read the first two harry potter books more times than I think I've read any other books. Of course, that was when I was in elementary school. So as I began the book I hardly remembered it. I am remembering more as I get further in, re imagining all my mental images. I'm glad I'm not in school so I wont have to dodge homework to read it. It feels like it has been a long time since i've read a book i can really sink into. It is very refreshing. I've been wanting to experience the series again for a while, reflections to come. * * * I went on two photo adventures this week, having this place to decorate with images has brought my camera back off the shelf, which is nice. It reminds me how little I actually know about photography. I shot in Manual on both adventures, and have very little to show for it, hopefully that will be motivation to learn more. I'll share what is worth looking at. * * * Focus. Not one of my top skills. Jumping randomly from task to thought to project to chore and back again in a different order is more my style (if you couldn't tell from this post). However that does not lead to being very skilled at any one thing. January is coming to an end, and with it the new years productivity boost. Today it was 60 degrees out, its time to think about planting flowers again, and tend to the plants that lived through the winter. I want to plant more creativity in my life this year, I just can't decide which kind to plant. Sewing, photography, image making, typography. Or live with my consumerism, and scroll scroll scroll. I'll keep my goals a secret. I'll tell you when I'm done. Firstly, this book is beautiful. I am magnetically drawn to yellow objects, and that really is how I found this book, not a your typical bookstore though, at Goodwill, where I find everything. Inside are beautifully designed pages full of simple activities to create newness and fun in your life. This book has many ideas I've thought about and I'm excited to have an external source of motivation to complete them. The Pizza, Nap, and Quote challenges I found today when I was taking pictures. All of them excite me and give me awesome ideas.
Attitude is the most important aspect of our happiness. I have been efforting to look forward to my job as opposed to dreading it lately. It is definitely a choice, I have to switch my negative thoughts off, and shove them from my brain, literally. I want to cultivate happiness and contentment in my life, even though all the pieces aren't where I'd like them to be. I think this book is a helpful step in the direction I want to go this year. Lots of projects to start. Every year since I was in high school I have made new years resolutions. Hoping at last to be the person I wanted to be. I listed 10 ways I knew I could be a better person, and if I was lucky when I checked the list in June I had done 3 or 5.
Brilliantly a few years ago I started shortening my list, 5 maximum. Then I should be able to complete them all! Haha, no. This year blogging is not on my list. But it is in reality. Well, Hi. My name is Sara. I am going to be writing here, at least once a week all year. One of the projects I have already started is called The Book of DoingI by Allison Arden. I am a sucker for activity based books. I love read, craft, and photograph everything. I'm also in the middle of find the perfect homemade shampoo for my hair. Those are some of what you will find here this year. |
